Educational Technology - Help! I Am Addicted to My Website

Hi friends. Yesterday, I found out about Educational Technology - Help! I Am Addicted to My Website. Which may be very helpful to me and also you.

Do you know - Help! I Am Addicted to My Website

It began dangerous enough, armed with a desire to get on the "inter-web" and hours of research, I decided to build a niche website around the hot gadgets of 2009-eBook Readers. Not only did I learn quite a bit about web design, hosting and Internet marketing, I developed a new compulsion which should be revealed as a warning that it could happen to you.

What I said. It is not the conclusion that the true about Educational Technology . You read this article for info on that wish to know is Educational Technology .

About Educational Technology

This past fall, quite a few stories emerged in the press about the Amazon Kindle 2 & DX, Sony Readers and Barnes & Noble Nook. Seeing that I enjoy reading books and am quite enthusiastic about all types of computers and electronics, my research into e-Readers grew from hours into weeks of research. Then when I got a chance to play around with a Sony Touch Reader, something clicked in my mind, that digital readingand ebooks will be the next major social trend after 2010. That is when my self education with web design began and I got started building my first website with e-Reader content.

As a newbie with no broke programming experience, I did not want to pay a professional to build it for me and give up creative control so I went for the simplistic option-a drag and drop editor with free hosting. Discovering Weebly.com was the catalyst which has launched my Internet business. Weebly is so easy, I had a couple of pages up and published within a few days. If you want to build your own site but find it all so intimidating, use Weebly.com because you won't find a easier way to build your own page.

I know I was off and running, my home page went up, then I added fact and specification pageson a dozen e-Readers then review pages on the Kindle and Nook were created. I added a blog page & contact page and an Amazon store followed. The store grew to several pages about covers, ebooks and other accessories. Since I had all this content, I joined Adsense and Commission Junction's affiliate programs to colorful post ad banners on the tops and bottoms of my pages.

After twelve hour days over a two week period, I had over twenty pages of content. Time to publish it live. But I needed a domain name. Weebly charges too much for domains so I bought my dotcom domain name from a site and had them "point" the record name to Weebly. Save yourself $ 20 and learn how to do this yourself with tutorials from You Tube.

Seeing my website published live and finding my domain inthe Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines was tremendously satisfying. Proud does not begin to describe how I feel. But that only lasted a few satisfacation days.

Running your own website on a huge topic like eBook Readers and having huge ambitions, is like feeding an elephant hungry. It never ends. The more technology news I read online, the more disappointed I became with own website. So I changed the header graphics to something more sophisticated. I added more pages, more news articles and covered more e-Readers like the Pocketbook 360, Bookeen's devices, iRiver's Story and more. Between November 15th and December 5th, I added ten more pages.

My traffic numbers were still really low so I bought Pay Per Click AdWords targeting Nook and Kindle users. Google Analytics showed aspike in traffic so my daily budget of $ 5.00 to $ 10.00 went up to day, then $ 20.00. By Christmas, I was almost broke again but made some affiliate income & revenue from AdSense had tiny.

My new web page was a success! But I still felt it was not good enough I know during the Christmas holidays, I rebuilt it, piece by piece. Content was moved from Weebly.com to a paid host with security backup, faster downloading, unlimited space and my own control panel to monitor traffic. Again, with the twelve to fourteen hour days, building up the site with a completely different graphic and navigation site map. On Jan 4th, the relaunched. Happy days, again-the site looks bigger and better than ever.

It is two weeks later as I write this on January 17, 2010. My three websites and all mysubmitted articles and back link exchanges have consumed ten weeks of my life. I am constantly thinking about my websites & can't go more than one day without using the Internet. The main site is up to sixty five pages, thirty five videos, a dozen guest articles and too many photos to count. I am finally satisfied with the design and size but still want to add many more features and reduce my bounce rate. It is never good enough.

I hope my story teaches two things. 1) The process involved in building your own website, from domain name registration to adding sections and revising your design and 2) how the need for perfection and growth can dominate your life, squeezing out your social and personal life.

I hope you obtain new knowledge about Educational Technology . Where you'll be able to offer use in your evryday life. And above all, your reaction is Educational Technology . Read more.. Help! I Am Addicted to My Website.
